Last night i looked at a way of creating bruises on an image, using a tutorial i had found on youtube, first i select the area where i want the bruise to be using the lasso tool and adding a feather, then playing with the vibrance, the colour balance and the burn tool, and here below are the outcomes i have, using my little brother's face.
